Shiraz grapes are the local speciality with Chardonnay and Semillon popular too. The Swan Valley has quickly become a popular tourism destination for people visiting Perth. With a much shorter travel distance when compared to Margaret River, a comfortable half day trip is easily viable. The region is noted for its fertile soil and food producers, most notable are the olive groves, coffee roasters, cheese farms, honey farms, a goat farm, dried-fruit producers, lavender farm and a wide range of great quality restaurants. In particular, our tours focus on visiting Houghton, Sandalford and a number of excellent family owned vineyards. A number of microbreweries and rum distilleries have also been established throughout a wide range of local-produce stalls selling a range of produce: melons, grapes, citrus and stone fruits, strawberries, asparagus are common when in season.
